My guided tours in Florence, conducted in both Italian and English, are designed for Italian and international guests, including visitors with disabilities.
Over the years, I have gained significant experience working with people with disabilities, completing the V.I.V.A.T. (Volontari Italiani Visite Artistiche Tattili) training course for museum operators and guides. This program focuses on the creation and management of tactile tours for blind and visually impaired visitors in Florence.
Specializing as a guide for visitors with disabilities, I have participated in the design of tourist itineraries and in accompanying people with psycho-physical disabilities, offering dedicated services in Florence on behalf of the Social Cooperative Matrix of Florence.
Please feel free to contact me for further information or quotes to ensure better accessibility in Florence for visitors with disabilities. If requested, I can assist in arranging the rental of a wheelchair or an electric scooter, or provide guidance regarding suitable accommodation facilities within the city.
In my experience as a guide for visitors with disabled people in Florence, I have often had the pleasure of accompanying wheelchair users on visits to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, which can be considered accessible. Access through the main entrance requires climbing four steps, while wheelchair users may enter and exit through the side entrance on the right, where a ramp is available. Inside the Cathedral, two wheelchairs are available for visitors in need, and they may also be used to visit the Baptistery and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.

In my experience as a guide for people with disabled people in Florence, I have verified the effective accessibility of the beautiful archaeological area of Fiesole for wheelchair users. Visitors can admire the Roman theatre, still used for performances and concerts, the baths, the Etruscan walls, and the temples. Fully functioning elevators allow access to all levels of the site without difficulty. The same applies to the Archaeological Museum within the area and to the charming Museo Bandini just outside the site, whose collection includes masterpieces from fourteenth- and fifteenth-century Florence. The archaeological area is also equipped with tactile maps.

As a guide for disabled visitors in Florence, I am pleased to present the first tactile tour at the Uffizi Gallery for blind and visually impaired visitors. The route includes 16 highly valuable sculptures from the Medici collections, such as the legendary Hermaphrodite, the Sleeping Cupid once owned by Lorenzo the Magnificent, the Torso Gaddi, which served as a model for Renaissance sculptors, and the Venus at Her Bath. The tour also includes a scale model of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. Visitors with visual impairments are provided with latex gloves to touch the sculptures, appreciate their surface features, and understand their form.

For blind visitors, I can arrange the rental of a special 'touch and braille' kit with tactile supports that help participants form a mental image of the monuments encountered throughout the city. Several museums in Florence also offer tactile maps and models reproducing exhibited artworks. These are itineraries that I have been proposing for many years with excellent feedback.

For visitors who tire easily or have mobility difficulties, I offer guided tours using an electric scooter, allowing easy movement through the historic center of Florence and within major museums. This makes it possible to spend an entire day exploring one of the world’s most beautiful cities without fatigue, while I share its history and artistic heritage. I can arrange the rental of the most suitable scooter for each individual, including home delivery within the city.
