Discover the most authentic and traditional local artisan shops in Florence and let yourself be fascinated by the work of the best artisans of Tuscany.
In Florence, ZEB is a modern interpretation of typical gastronomy, centered around the original counter where on one side sales take place and on the other a pleasant tasting of dishes prepared by the skilled hands of Mamma Giuseppina. All this just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, and Palazzo Pitti. ZEB, which stands for zuppe e bollito (soups and boiled meats), offers simple, carefully prepared cuisine always respecting Tuscan tradition (www.zebgastronomia.com).
Among the local artisan shops, I recommend the workshop of a very particular goldsmith. Upon entering, you will have the sensation of stepping back in time, perhaps because Alessandro understands and lives his workshop as in the Florentine Renaissance. Recognized as a Museum by the Department of Fine Arts of Florence, the Atelier of Master Dari is located on the ancient Via di San Niccolò, just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio, in the heart of the historic center of Florence. For the Master, goldsmithing is an art no less important than others, which in his opinion has not yet received the full recognition it deserves. When every small truth takes shape, the fully lived material returns once again to its spirit. This makes each of his jewels a strictly unique piece (www.alessandrodari.com).
Bar, pastry shop, restaurant, live jazz, after dinner, all facing Ponte Vecchio. If you visit the center of Florence, you will certainly pass in front of this place, located in the Oltrarno. For a long time I never entered, partly because I felt intimidated by the beauty of the place, which seemed beyond my reach, and partly because I believed it to be a 'touristic' spot. None of this is true. I assure you it is worth entering this bar, even just for a coffee, and you will be captivated by the beauty of the view, feeling as if you were on a boat, stationary on the Arno, facing Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, and the Vasarian Corridor. The people who work there are truly kind and, if you ask, they will let you visit the restaurant rooms and then you can judge for yourself (www.goldenviewopenbar.com).
THE PATENT OF UASHMAMA PAPER. Walking through the historic center of Florence always offers pleasant discoveries, especially for a shopping enthusiast like me. The products displayed are the expression of the creativity of a family-run artisan shop that has innovated starting from a deep knowledge of Tuscan craftsmanship. In particular, they patented UASHMAMA paper, composed of virgin fibers that come from plantations and not from deforestation. It is a paper that closely resembles leather and can be washed like fabric. More innovative than that… (www.lesorelle.toscana.it).
In addition to visiting the artisan shops of Florence, I propose other tourist itineraries: with a pleasant walk, you can have fun together with your family among the beauties of the city.

Florence in a suitcase? Yes indeed! During one of the itineraries I offer, I have planned a truly unusual perspective for a view of Florence. You will be able to take a selfie with your family at a panoramic spot in the city, through one of the works by the artist Folon, located inside the Rose Garden.
